About The Designer / Elevator Speech
Vetements Suterrains
Cameron Sims, CEO and Head Director of Vetements Suterrains wasn't always promised to take the route of fashion. As a little boy growing up in Valdosta and later moving to Atlanta I seen a culture swap from fads to trends. My grandma always use to knit and demonstrate and explain that in fashion its kind of "Spoken Art". Explain to me how " A stitch can mean a thousand words depending on how serious you take your art". These wise words always stuck with me through my childhood and early adult years being able to express myself and the silence of others who really don't have outlets was a strong dilemma of mines I had to decide on. I’ve been keeping busy lately with passion projects (sourcing denim-leather vendors, tech packs, marketing strategies) as well as earning my Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design and Merchandising at Georgia Southern University as a Senior(2023) with the recognition of the FMAD 3030 Merchandising Elective: Fashion Entrepreneurship Portfolio Also having many internship programs @ Macys, Zara and smaller brands(LIVEONRAEF). I'm always looking for new business and personal opportunities to expand my branding. For more information about me or collaborations and my availability for other projects, please be in touch.
Elevator Speech:
Cameron Sims a junior in Fashion Design and Merchandising is more than a designer but an innovator of the textile world teaching himself the in and outs of the business while also converting a way to change fast fashion into recyclable durable art. The thought of fashion designing/ buying came about when I was in my early teens not being able to afford new clothing growing up pushed me to understand the buying process behind why certain brands cost so much. The course Fashion Buying 3232 really helped me understand that certain brands cost what they are because of the process of it being a hot item I found it very interesting to be able to learn about how marketing yet the purchase of certain garments frequently can raise a brands prices supply and demand. From this, I tend to use all the information applied to me when at certain meetings such as board meetings on what I can bring and learn also how can I apply these methods to real-world to generate the company needs also I plan to use what I learned in my own business of denim selling helping consumers understand the niche and buying price and associations with each step into the fashion world or any marketing career
